I bought the 3 incher. For the usuall dock lines you will need the larger size. My fault, not the product.

Comments about Dock Edge 3-1/2" Flip-Up Dock Ring:
I have 2 docks have them on both, 2 hold a ski boat, 2 hold a bass boat, and 2 hold a paddle boat. The 3.5 ones I have are a little small but I was afraid of the next size being too big. when not in use they fold down and are out of the way and is alot more clean looking than normal cleats.

Comments about Dock Edge 3-1/2" Flip-Up Dock Ring:
Works well with rafts or small watercraft... Larger boats or dock lines should use the 6 or 8 inch versions.
