Nice light boot. Very comfortable. Toasty warm... I'd buy them again. Enough said!

Comments about Danner Pronghorn GTX 1200g 8" Hunting Boots:
This is my first purchase of Danner hunting boots. I bought them because of good reviews and the features of these boots. I give them 4 stars because they lack a good insole but would have given a 5. My first impression is that these are very well made boots. They are a bit bulkier than they look in the picture but it's not a problem as these are stuffed with lots of insulation, which is one of the main reasons I bought them. I have not used them hunting yet but I did wear them around this winter to break them in for next hunting season. It appears that these are going to need very little breaking in. They fit my narrow size 13 foot very well but they are a little roomy which is OK with me too as they will still have enough room after I put some quality insoles in them and wear hefty hunting socks. The insole is not very impressive. I expected better insoles with a top quality boot but they are the same cheap thin foam insoles that give little cushioning to the heel and ball of your foot. The toe box has lots of room to wiggle your toes and there are no pressure points at all throughout the boot. They are a bit taller than my old hunting boots but I found them very easy to walk around in and they really are much lighter than the boots I'm used to wearing which will be a nice treat for the feet next season. They breathe very nicely and I'm sure they will keep my feet warm and dry. I buy only Gore Tex boots because I have had many Gore Tex shoes and boots and they have never failed to keep my feet dry. I expect the same of these. I also like the speed lace hooks. They are very strong, won't bend and will not catch on and rip up my pant legs. The soles have a nice lug pattern and look like they will provide great traction on any surface. The soles also appear to have 2 kinds of rubber, one softer and the lower part harder for sure footing on slippery surfaces. The real test will come next hunting season but I am confident that these boots will perform very well. I'm looking forward to warmer feet and less leg fatigue from the lighter boots. My only complaint is the insole which can easily be replaced, and the fact that these boots are made in China. I thought Danner was a US company. Had I known, I likely would have kept looking. We're American's, we need to support our own country!

Comments about Danner Pronghorn GTX 1200g 8" Hunting Boots:
I purchased these boots 2 years ago at Gander Mountain and I must say they are worth every penny. I typically deer hunt in Wisconsin late season bow and gun into December/January. My feet typically get cold, which is why I went with the 1200 grams thinsulate. I bought them about a half size larger because I usually wear a thin sock and then wool socks over. My feet have stayed warm even down to 10 degrees for a few hours. These boots are the most comfortable pair that I have tried on and worn compared to many other boots with similar or more thinsulate insulation.

Comments about Danner Pronghorn GTX 1200g 8" Hunting Boots:
i bought these boots at full price in hopes that they will serve me well. i had a pair of rocky bear claws that i only wore hunting for 2 deer seasons and just this last spring hunting turkey. i started to notice that my feet were getting wet while i was turkey hunting. i got to looking and noticed that the soles on my rockys were coming apart. this was very frustrating so i knew what i had to do. i went and bought these danner pronghorns at full price. i am praying these boots hold up better for the price. i will be using them starting this deer season so right now they are setting in my room waiting. they look to be made very well. the soles look good and strong. they felt good when i tried them on so im sure they will be comfortable. i hope someone else buys these boots so i can see what they think of them. happy hunting!
