Comments about Crow Shooting MTM .45 Cal. Ammo Can:

I use the boxes for ammo storage mostly, because the weight of some ammo makes the box too heavy to carry with reasonable comfort or security if you "overload" it. I've always found that ammo stored "loose" makes the most of the storage capacity of a given container, and here's what I've found with using these boxes: I can easily store 1,400 rounds of 9mm, with room for 2 dessicant packs. I can get 900 .45ACP rounds in a box with dessicant, but the weight is excessive for carrying the box. I can get 900 rounds of 5.56x45 per box, 950 is pushing it and no room for dessicant. One reviewer stated he can get 1,000 rounds of 7.62x39 in a can, I can only get 600 loose rounds and there's no way to get 50 20-round boxes of Wolf or Tula in one of these.

I've used these for storage in a safe, because I want my ammo both dry and secure. Rows and rows of these boxes can add up in cost, but are cheap compared to steel cans. And for the record, if you store your ammo in it's original packaging you an actually get more of it in the space you have than if you use these boxes. I use them because they're easier to label, stack, and make my storage easier, but if space is a premium you're better off stuffing your ammo into every available nook and cranny than having it in "neatly labeled rows".

I think because of the pricing, and free shipping for quite a few of these, they can't be beat.

25 100 round sleeves of 22lr fit real good and easy weight to carry and store. Kind of light weight vs steel but fine for casual storage. The lock hasp is light duty and not much of a deterrent.but it might be good enough to pass muster for having items secured if the law requires that. Overall light weight with handy dimensions and easy to deal with and the price is good. The minimags stack just about perfect and you can keep your empty mini mags boxes right there in the same case.

These will hold 20 boxes (1,000rds) of Tula 9mm perfectly and doesn't buckle under the weight.

It will also hold 12 30rd PMAGS with just enough room to stuff 2 20rd PMAGS on the end for a nice 400rd grab and go setup.

I always run in and pick up a couple of these whenever I'm close to my local GM.

For the price and not having to worry about rust, they are hard to beat!

It CAN in fact be locked. The lock goes between the two black latches on the front side. May need to use a longer shackle lock though (1.5-2inches)

This box will be unable to be locked. It can be latched shut but not locked.
