Bought two in the last year. Both only give 470 fps velocity with the Beeman Silver Sting pellet. There's no difference between 8 and 10 pumps on my chronograph with either gun. Both shoot about 1.5" high at 10 yards with the rear sight as low as it will go.

Comments about Crosman® 1377 American Classic .177-Caliber Air Pistol:

I have had this Pellet pistol only a few weeks. I have put a few hundred pellets through it in the Man Cave. I usually pump it 3 or 4 times for target practice and that appears to give it sufficent velocity. I am amazed by the accuracy of this air pistol. I have tried 3 different pellets and it likes them all. It is cheap to shoot with 500 pellets for less than $5. I think this is an excellent tool to improve anyone's marksmanship with a pistol.

Comments about Crosman® 1377 American Classic .177-Caliber Air Pistol:

This gun provides me with excellent target practice in my own back yard. I only recently started shooting firearm pistols last year. (I own a RUGER MKIII pistol.) Thanks to my CROSMAN 1377, I can practice shooting at cans and paper targets all day long in my back yard during those days I cannot go to the range. This practice definitely helps me when I go to the range to shoot my RUGER MKIII. My overall assessment: Excellent pellet gun; excellent price!

I use this air pistol for plinking, target shooting, squirrel and rodent control. It works great. It always works. I really don't do any cleaning or maintenance. I just spray it down with WD-40. It just keeps on going. I drilled out the rear peep sight and made it like a ghost ring sight. That works good for me. I think this is a great gun for the money.

Answered on 6/4/2010 by JD from Florida
          • A:

10 Pumps is the maximum recommended by Crosman and is the basis of the 600 fps claim.

Answered on 6/8/2010 by Jimmie from USA
          • A:

I just got mine yesterday. The manual says not to exceed 10 pumps. so I assume this will get you to 600 fps.

I shoot at 6 to 8 with good results.

If you took it to a gunsmith, he might have a solution for a special kind of scope mount.

Answered on 9/8/2010 by Jimmy Trivette from Sanford FL
          • A:

There are two ways to mount a scope to this gun. The first is a set of clamps that go on the barrel then add a scope with rings. Option two is to get a crosman steel breech to replace the plastic one and mount the rings and scope to that

          • A:

Now it is? I mean, as per the crosman 2012 product catalog, they have 'scope mounts' for the Model 1377C which is this air rifle/pistol. It's model number is: 'Model 459MTC'

Yes. The gun can be dismantled very easily with sum key screws. Its a good practice with any weapon to know how to take apart and clean/ repair it after u purchase. Seals can be ordered by factory or hardware store.
