I used this tape exactly how it was intended, to reinforce stress points around the windshield and other points of contact with my boat cover. My cover is less than 1 year old and has no holes or rips but I wanted to prevent them with this tape. The tape was easy to apply to my clean cover but when I removed the cover from the boat 1 week later, the tape peeled off in several areas and what remained was very loose. The adhesion was very poor and it was a complete waste of money and did not work as advertised for my canvas cover.

Comments about Covermate Boat Cover Reinforcement and Repair Tape:
We made one patch and the remaining tape was carefully placed to reduce stretching. The whole roll of tape was used on our pontoon cover. Almost immediately it began to come off. The boat has only been used about 5 times so it received no stress on the tape. Today, there is not one piece of the tape still on the cover. It was a total failure.

Comments about Covermate Boat Cover Reinforcement and Repair Tape:
I was happy with the product when I used it last year, but it didn't adhere as well this year. I had to use "Marine Goop" to create a good bond between patches.

Having to have patch tape sewn to canvas at edges. Did not adhere after one week. Cleaned pontoon cover with rubbing alchohal, but that wasnt good enough. No instructions provided in package on how to prep materials.

Comments about Covermate Boat Cover Reinforcement and Repair Tape:
I used this product as an emergency repair on a few tears in my camper canvas. It applied well on damp and dirty fabric, and adhered all last season. My camper canvas is now waterproof again. I am looking to purchased a large roll and keep it handy for any future repairs.

will this repair and strengthen a tare in a canvas boat cover?Asked on 8/19/2010 by Dennis from NC2 answers
A:
Not in my experience. It only worked because I sewed it on. I had no luck with the adhesive. $50 delivered is also pretty steep for patch material you end up sewing on.Answered on 7/18/2011 by BoatShow from Detroit, MIVERIFIED BUYER
A:
Not without some special prep of the canvas, and probably sewing the edges of the patch to keep it from peeling-up.Answered on 6/9/2011 by Fiero Floyd from Clarkston, MI

A:
It is grey. It would repair continuous portions (not seams) of vinyl seats but it would not look pretty.Answered on 7/30/2009 by Jim from Ft. Lauderdale, FLVERIFIED BUYER
