Initially known only as the Colt Automatic Target Pistol, the Woodsman was a unique sporting pistol based on a design by John Browning. The first series Woodsman can be easily recognized by its distinctive profile, which resembles the German Luger in the rakish grip angle. The medium barrel Woodsman has a small step down and then tapers to .525 of an inch at the muzzle. This first series Woodsman features a windage adjustable rear sight checkered wooden grips, and the original two-tone magazine that is missing its button. This first series pistol features a 4-1/2", medium weight, round barrel and adjustable target sights and includes the original 10-round magazine and the original factory box with accessories. Its wood and metal are in good condition and its bore is in very good condition.
