Since its introduction in the late-1950's the AR-15 has been the standard by which all other assault rifles are judged. The AR-15's straight-line stock design eliminates the fulcrum created by traditional bent stocks, reducing muzzle climb. The aircraft grade aluminium receiver is lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant and the synthetic stock and grips do not warp or splinter. The AR-15's direct impingement gas system is fast-acting and reliable whether housed in the US Military's M-16 or a civilian AR-15. This rifle is part of a lot of California highway Patrol surplus rifles. Some of these rifles have stickers and painted numbers that can be removed. The rifle is equipped with a bayonet lug and a fixed carry handle and does not come with a magazine. Its stock, metal, and bore are all in good condition.
