A variation on the classic Model 1911, Colt's Series 70 semi-automatics feature the same dependable basic design that has made the 1911 one of the world's most trusted handguns. The Series 70 features a redesigned barrel bushing that differs from the original 1991's by changing from a solid cylindrical type to a spring-steel, finger collet bushing that grips the end of the barrel and allows greater accuracy. The updated setup allows the typical Mark IV to shoot better than the older military-spec pistols with their loosely fit solid bushings and straight barrels. Like other 1911's, the Series 70 uses often-imitated Browning short-recoil action design for superior longevity. This pistol features special engraving, a blade front sight with a rear notch, a slide-stop safety, and a 7-round magazine and includes a Michigan State police 60th anniversary display box and the original factory box. Its grips, its metal, and its bore are all in excellent condition.
