A direct descendant of the original Colt 1911A1, the 1991A1 is still "The Standard" everyone else imitates, but no one duplicates. The M1991A1 is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, and recoil-operated handgun chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. More economical than the 1911, the Model 1991 still has the same dependability that colt is known for. The Series 80 incorporates a new firing pin block safety system, where a series of internal levers and a plunger positively blocks the firing pin from moving until the trigger is pressed, eliminating the possibility of the gun discharging if dropped onto a hard surface or struck hard. The Series 80 handguns also differ from early 1911's by having a half-notch hammer that further prevents accidents. This handgun features engraved US Army logo metal grips, a blade front sight with a rear notch, and an 8-round magazine. Its grips and bore are in very good condition and its metal is in good condition.
