Designed by John Browning, the Model 1911 was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985 and is still carried by some U.S. forces today. The Model 1911's longevity is due to Browning's often-imitated design, which incorporates the short recoil principle. The M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, and recoil-operated handgun chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. While many manufacturers have produced this firearm, Colt is the original and the most trusted. This single-action pistol consists of a Colt Series 70 barrel and slide with an RMT frame. The 100th Anniversary Tier III 1911 is a special pistol made to commemorate the 1911's 100th anniversary. The Tier III is based on the collectible Colt Model 01918 configuration and finish with custom rollmarks and a unique serial number format. This handgun comes with the original factory box. Its grips, metal, and bore are all in very good condition.
