The Colt Lightning Carbine or Colt Lightning Rifle is a slide-action or pump-action rifle manufactured by Colt from 1884 to 1904 in three different frame sizes. Known for its speed, the Colt rifle could beat any Winchester, leading Colt founder Samuel Colt to boast, "Nothing is faster than Lightning." First produced in 1887, the small-frame Lightning was the first ever rimfire rifle manufactured by Colt and features a 24-inch octagonal barrel with a case-hardened hammer and a walnut stock. This rifle has a blade front sight and a fixed rear notch and a chip on the right side of the forearm. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in NRA good condition.
