Designed by the Reed Knight, Jr. and Eugene Stoner of M16 fame, the All American 2000 was created by Colt to bring to the market a more up-to-date 9mm design, suitable for police use. The 2000 is built with a lightweight polymer frame and uses a locked-breech, rotary bolt system. Using design elements from classic firearms, Colt based the rotating barrel of the All American on that of the Steyr 1912 and the roller-locking mechanism was based on a design used by the French Manufacture d'Armes et des Cycles de Saint-Etienne since 1914. Unlike most other polymer-framed handguns, the All-American 2000 has removable grip panels. The 2000 was made in small numbers and only manufactured for a few years, which means that the few All Americans on the market tend to be prized collectibles. This pistol features fixed 3-dot sights and a 15-round magazine. Its grips and metal are in good condition and its bore is in very good condition.
