Gotta love this for the walls, if nothing else. WE camp with children, and several of us have one of these. One does french toast, one does the eggs, one does the potatoes, one does the bacon and sausage - and nothing gets dropped or pushed over the edge accidently. We let the children help with the food prep. This is simply the best.

DON'T BUY --DANGER
The first time I used this skillet the legs melted off and hot grease poured everywhere. When I contacted Coleman all they did was offer to send me more plastic legs.

Comments about Coleman InstaStart Propane Skillet:
At first we loved it. Sides to contain food, nice size etc. Then the orings failed, flames shot out and melted the legs off. Lasted less then 1 camping season. A shame because it appeared to be just what we wanted.

Comments about Coleman InstaStart Propane Skillet:
My son gave this to me for Christmas when it first came out. We have put it through many years of heavy use. My favoriate meal to use it is breakfast. I usually fry the meat and then make gravy and serve it right from the skillet. Very easy to clean as the "container part" lifts out. Have not had any trouble with the legs melting.

Comments about Coleman InstaStart Propane Skillet:
We purchased this item recently for a family camping trip. It cooks great and is a great concept for easy camp cooking that requires a large cooking surface. I have the greatest respect for Coleman products but this one still has some problems. We had two parts on the Skillet break or degrade. One of the four feet on the skillet broke after the first use, yes it was bumped against the edge of a camp table but not with much force. Coleman graciously sent a replacement foot and hopefully this will not be a regular problem. The second problem was more worrisome. Of the two O-rings on the orifice fitting of the propane regulator, one came off and was lost, the other shredded and completely broke. I searched local hardware stores but the width/diameter combination of the o-rings does not match the usual plumbing stock. Coleman would not give me the dimensions nor sell me any spare o-rings. The only option offered by Coleman was to buy a new regulator ! I'm worried about the integrity of the propane seal.

Comments about Coleman InstaStart Propane Skillet:
I have not had a chance to use this product yet, but saw a friend use one during the 4th of July camping trip and that is why I ordered it. It looks really handy to use and I don't have to worry about tripping breakers.

Q:
One review mentioned plastic legs that melted. I just bought one last night and the legs appear to be made of metal, but I'm not sure. Can they really melt?Asked on 6/3/2009 by Anonymous3 answers
A:
I have owned one of these grills for about 4 years. The legs are plastic but I have no idea how you could melt them off unless you set the grill on a stove or something hot. Also the grill is great other than I am starting to have a problem with sticking.Answered on 6/16/2009 by Battler from Janesville, WIA:
I've had this grill for 4 years, no problem at all with anything melting... except for the plastic spatula used to cook with! (be very careful with Metal utensils.. this is a non-stick grill!)Answered on 6/29/2009 by Crystal from Flint, MIA:
