Comments about Cobra MR F45-D Class D VHF Radio Package With 8' Antenna And Mount:
This is a good package price, but the antenna base is a plastic thread so be careful my threads keep backing out so i tapped a screw though the base to keep it there. The plastic mount is very weak looking i think im getting a stainless steel mount, but the radio is great very clear and huge range..

Q:
I would like to purchase a 4' or 3' antenna rather than a 8' antenna with this package. I have a center console and I had rather mount a shorter antenna on the side of the console or the hand rail because this way I could fold it away easier than on the side.Asked on 2/20/2012 by Jay1 answer
A:
Have you looked into a 2-peace fold down? I know they make them. I had one on a 24 ft. Pro Line walk around.Answered on 5/5/2012 by Capn Joe from TN

You can get a 120v AC to 12v DC converter at radio shack and run it off of that to use it as a stationary radio.Answered on 3/13/2011 by Mike from Camp LeJeune, NCA:
This is a 12 volt unit that needs to be hooked up to a full sized battery. It works fine with hand held radio.Answered on 11/28/2011 by Gary from Fort Collins
Q:
I BOUGHT STANDARD HORIZON CP180i CHARTPLOTTER 92476 FROM OVERTONS.
I BELIEVE IT SAID I COULD HOOK UP THE CHARTPLOTTER TO A VHF RADIO AND IF I GOT A DISTRESS CALL FROM ANOTHER VHF RADIO MY CHARTPLOTTER WOULD AUOTMATICALLY GIVE THE THERE COORDINANTS, HENCE I WOULD KNOW WHERE TO GO TO THEM. I WAS LOOKING AT THE COGRA MR F45 RADIO PACKAGE YOU HAVE IN STOCK. DOES THAT COBRA HAVE THE CAPACITY TO HOOK TO THE CHARTPLOTTER AND GIVE ME THE RESULTS I AM LOOKING FOR, IF NOT WHAT RADIO WOULD I NEED TO ACCOMPLISH THIS FEATURE.Asked on 2/14/2011 by THOMAS from HUDSON, FLORIDA1 answer
