Comments about Cobra Marine Cobra The Edge Pro Planing and Stabilizer Plate, stainless steel:
Very good device, the best i have used on my 25' + 250 optimax. No drag, increased top end (+2 mph), low speed planing (+- 18 mph), a perfect combination with my Rev.4 x 17" propeller.

Comments about Cobra Marine Cobra The Edge Pro Planing and Stabilizer Plate, stainless steel:
Intalled stainless steel stabilizer with no problem. Works very well and am very happy with purchase.Thin , yet strong design allows the lower unit stabilizer to cut through the water with very little drag ! Boat planes out level very quickly and effortlessly !

Comments about Cobra Marine Cobra The Edge Pro Planing and Stabilizer Plate, stainless steel:
Installed on Reinell LSE 200 bowrider w/5.0L. Pros: Lowered planing speed by 5 mph. Keeps plane at lower speed when pulling multiple tubers.
Boat handles rough water better. I trim down & speed up a bit & bow seems to cut through bigger waves instead of porpoising over them.
Cons: Probably lost 3 mph top end, edges are sharp from machining process and will cut skin if not careful. I took 80 grit emery cloth and sanded the exposed edges which cured that problem.

Comments about Cobra Marine Cobra The Edge Pro Planing and Stabilizer Plate, stainless steel:
The performance of my 22' 200hp bay boat is like day and nite. The handling the fuel mileage is out standing. I was in ONE FOOT OF WATER, I hammered on it and it shot out like a bullet. The back end did not go down. The steering from side to side amazing. The Cobra is what I would say " you get what you pay for" Wally Valdez

Cons

Best Uses
- Brave One X outdrives
Comments about Cobra Marine Cobra The Edge Pro Planing and Stabilizer Plate, stainless steel:
One piece design far superior. Don't buy any two piece design, outdrive fins become weak from excessive flexing and break off.

Q:
i have a 2001 sea ray 280 sun sport boat with 9' 3" beam the boat only has 12 x12 trim tabs and twin 5.7 engines its heavy at the stern and has u shaped seating adding to its stern weight ,with trims down and drives down its slow getting on plane the engines are screaming and the bow is high i also think i have a little prop slip, the props are original s.s. and i just had them reconditioned, also with the twin IO"s there isn't transom space for larger trim tabs, i am thinking about putting on the cobra edge planers, looking for reccomdations and commentsAsked on 6/24/2012 by dipps from sarasota,fl0 answers
