Nice little radio!

Comments about Cobra CXT235 GMRS/FRS Two-Way Radios:

This is a nice radio to have for short distance comms (2-3 miles max). However, just one caveat...the claim that it has a 20 mile range is quite misleading! If you have a completely clear, unimpeded, zero-objects-in-the-way, line-of-sight path to the other radio operator, AND you have enough height (about 290 feet above sea level) to see the horizon at 20 miles, then yes, you can reach 20 miles(this goes for all "walkie-talkie" (two-way) radios). But, that's not really practical, as most of us will be around trees, buildings, etc., and at ground level on top of that. So, figure on maybe a couple of miles at best for normal, everyday use. With all that being said, this is still a great little radio!
