Product Description
The unique shank configuration of the Chene anchor allows for 45° of holding surface, so the large flukes penetrate deeply. Slip shank angle makes the anchor 100% retrievable. Can be retrieved straight up without the use of a separate trip line. High-tensile zinc-plated steel construction. Not for use with anchor chains. Use anchor rope only.

I have been useing 2 slip ring mechanical anchors and my 22' pontoon would not stay in place. So I purchased 1 Chene anchor 33824 for boats up to 36',and I use only 1 anchor and it holds the boat in place, even when a severe storm came up,had the front tied off to a shoreline tree and the Chene anchor on the rear it held-strong,I recomand this product highly!!

We own a 23 ft "bow rider" on Lake Hartwell" in South Carolina and have been recreational boaters for 12 years. Hartwell is an inland lake and in the summer the wind blows 5-15 miles per hour daily , sometimes stronger. The lake bottom ranges from sand and rock to tree stumps. The release feature is great, but although the anchor is rated for a 25 ft boat , it won't hold our boat unless it's dead clam.

Use the anchor when we like to just park in a cove and swim. Grabs the bottom easily and holds even when there is wind.

                          A:

This item weighs 8lbs and does not use an anchor chain because the design of this anchor causes the flukes to pop up and not hold if a chain is used. The weight of the anchor chain pulls the top of the anchor down and causes the flukes not to hold properly.
