Product Description
The unique shank configuration of the Chene anchor allows for 45° of holding surface, so the large flukes penetrate deeply. Slip shank angle makes the anchor 100% retrievable. Can be retrieved straight up without the use of a separate trip line. High-tensile zinc-plated steel construction. Not for use with anchor chains. Use anchor rope only. |

I read all the reviews, they were not great, sounded like it works better in muddy bottoms, but I had to try it anyway. I have a 20' Trophy WA. My main area of operations are eastern NC in the sounds. I bought the recommended chene anchor but it looked so small, so I exchanged it for the next size, my problem is the anchor storage space will only hold a very small anchor, this fits. In using it, it took several trys to get it to work on a muddy bottom. I tried it without a chain, then with a chain on sandy bottom it never hooked. I tried a little bit of rope, alot of rope and it still didn't catch. The only way to set it is swim to the bottom and dig it in by hand.

USED AS A MAIN ANCHOR ON BOTH LAKE MICHIGAN AND ON THE TENNESSE RIVER. DEFINITELY NEEDS A CHAIN.
I NOW USE MY OLD DANFORTH AS A SPARE OR REAR ANCHOR.

This anchor will hold my 22' pontoon securely even on very windy days; the boat would drag my previous anchors.
