Product Description
The unique shank configuration of the Chene anchor allows for 45° of holding surface, so the large flukes penetrate deeply. Slip shank angle makes the anchor 100% retrievable. Can be retrieved straight up without the use of a separate trip line. High-tensile zinc-plated steel construction. Not for use with anchor chains. Use anchor rope only.

Anchor holds boat well most of the time. It has trouble when big boats wake cause anchor to slip and it has to be reset. I had to cut line once, as I was in too deep to go after it when it was caught up on something and would not release.

Comments about Chene Anchor, recommended for 12' to 25' boats:

I tried the anchor in Cranberry Lake, which is full of submerged stumps. Sure enough, it held well, despite its light weight. When I retrieved it, it was caught on the bottom. Just a little re-positioning of the boat and the line slipped up the framework as designed, and came up easily. Good design!

Comments about Chene Anchor, recommended for 12' to 25' boats:

I have a 19 foot aluminum boat and this anchor will not hold it at all. Have tried in flat water and a passing boat wake will pull it free even with 100' of line out. It does work great on my 14' jon boat and canoe.

Comments about Chene Anchor, recommended for 12' to 25' boats:

It's good for a rear anchor for a 21' or larger but not for a front anchor, I have it on my 21' wellcraft waand once it finds a good hold it stays, but the boat drags it with ease on a sandy smooth bottom.

Easy to release and bring in since no chain is used! Fits really nice on my bow pulpit and no chain to bang up the hatch!

                  It's not brass , it's anodised steel . so it's rust resistant.

What is the approx. wiegth on SKU 33822 (16 to 25 footer)? And how much bigger and heavier is the SKU 33823 (26 to 30 footer)?

                  A:

Item 33822 weighs 4.2 pounds and item 33823 weighs 6.2 pounds. That is shipping weight and may not be the actual weight of the anchor, but that is the closest information about the weight of the anchor. The packaging would weigh the same for both so the 33823 is 2 pounds heavier than 33822. Hope that helps.

Mark I don't know the weight of the next size up,but if I need another one I would order the larger size! The 16 to 25 ft. is very small but does work well. I do most fishing beyond 20 miles so the larger one would work better! Hope this helps! My boat is a 23ft. Robalo W/A cuddy!
