This jacket is all that's needed for outdoor activities be it windy, cold or wet. The heavy fabric is stiff at first, but softens after several wearings. Very durable and rugged for many years of use. Slightly tapered sides and curved hemline give this jacket a nicer look for women's workwear of this kind. The dark olive color is a nice shade. This is a heavy jacket in weight too. The reason I gave Fit 4 stars is because it doesn't have a two-way zipper and no front buttons, so if one needs more freedom while sitting, the zipper closed can be constricting and bunches up. I didn't realize this before purchase, but liked so many of it's other features, I just couldn't return it. I wear it open when needed. It has very handy pockets which zip at the outer left chest and inner right side. There is a velcro pocket at the inner left side too. The two lower outer front pockets are easy to slide hands into and warm. The corduroy collar and knit cuffs are soft. The upper back has billows for additional mobility and motion comfort. Well constructed jacket for the price.

I'm 5'7", 44" chest, 41" waist, wear size 36 jeans. The sizing of this jacket will probably fail 99% of users. As per the recommendation of many reviewers that stated it would run big I ordered a medium. Long story short the shoulders looked like I could wear football shoulder pads underneath, the hem line was about 3 inches too long, the arms were almost 2 inches too long, and instead of a slim fit it seemed like I could stash two footballs under the jacket. Returned that one, ordered a size smaller. That one had correct shoulders and correct hem, but everything else was tiny; arms too short, I could not even zip it close by a long short. The 'Medium' is more like a large+/extra large, the small is well, small. They missed an entire size in between. not to mention that the overall dimensions would be way too long, way too wide shoulders, ensuring it would look nothing like on the model pictures on just about anybody remotely close enough.

    AWESOME

Comments about Carhartt Sandstone Ridge Coat/Sherpa Lined (Style #C61):

I am blown away with this coat!!! i bought this coat thinking it would be good for the autumn months in Upstate NY. We're well into a frozen winter, -10 averages temps, and this coat is still keeping me warm. During the cold months of sub zero temps with snow I wear a base layer and this coat with my Carhartt Bib Overalls and I am just fine to work outside all day. The ONLY complaint I have is that the sherpa lining doesn't go down the sleeves, its the arctic quilt in the sleeves, which is nice too but... I like the sherpa; I think it traps more air and keeps you warmer than the quilting.

    Everything and More

Comments about Carhartt Sandstone Ridge Coat/Sherpa Lined (Style #C61):

Could not ask for a better coat. Working in a lumber yard this coat meets all my demands. i really appreciate the cuff construction, between the tight cuffs locking out the cold, and the sleeves keeping out debris, such a great combination. The chest pocket is a God send when doing work overhead, needing to keep tools and parts close at hand. For those of us who prefer to layer and find a hood restricting, this coat could not be better or more versatile. Thank you for such a great product

Great coat. I like the idea of the two way zipper. The only minor complaint is that the coat is a little stiff when first purchased.

    Nothing but good things

Comments about Carhartt Sandstone Ridge Coat/Sherpa Lined (Style #C61):

After buying other Carhartt gear, I wanted a jacket for everday wear. This is the perfect jacket as it is not too bulky yet has lots of warm and a great fit. I can wear it both on the jobsite and in the office, and be comfortable with both. Quality, durability, warmth, and styling all equal past purchases of all Carhartt gear.
