Comments about Camp Chef® Solar Flare Lantern:

We seem to break every camping season the glass globe and then trying to find a replacement for just that model is an adventure in itself. So finally somebody came up with the glorious idea of an unbreakbale globe. I had to have it once I saw it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Comments about Camp Chef® Solar Flare Lantern:

have worn out many coleman lanterns over the years. The glass globes are a pain since they always break just prior to leaving on a trip or 1st night or so and are at times hard to locate. the test will be in a rain storm with wind

Comments about Camp Chef® Solar Flare Lantern:

Since I have over a dozen Camp Chef camping items I thought the "3 Mantle" lantern would be the same quality especially with a stainless steel globe rather than glass. I found it more difficult to install the mantles than my Coleman's which is not that big a deal but the
mantles were low quality and broke easily. I didn't notice that it was any brighter than my Coleman Duel Fuel lantern and it certainly doesn't compare quality-wise. I bought 2 of these 3 mantle lanterns and on one the striker did not work so I decided to send them both back. I called Customer Service and they immediately sent a pick-up and refunded me. (Always happy with their great service). So my conclusion is this:
The Stainless globe is good. The mantles are troublesome. The lantern is not as sturdy as a Coleman (nor as costly). The overall quality is somewhat flimsy and could use some improvement.
My new replacement lanterns are German-made Coleman Duel Fuel and I plan to fire them up next week.
