Comments about Idea Development Co Cable Buddy Steering Cable Lubrication System:
I installed this on a 16 ft bowrider. Since the steering cable on this boat goes through a hole in the cap,I had to remove the motor ro install the nut. It is also necessary to use thread tape on the nut before drilling the hole since if you do not the nut leaks. This was not even mentioned in the instructions but definately should have been. The lubrication does free up the cable but without sealing the nut it makes a mess. With a few improvements (sealer included and better instructions) this could be a great product

Q:
I have a 16 FT 1986 Bayling Capri Bowrider with a 85 HP Force outboard. The steering is a Telflex rack and pinion no feedback system, similar to your SS151, which I purchased from Overton's to replace to orginal system which stiffened up. Now this steering system is stiffing up and has become hard to steer.
Will the Cable Buddy product help to correct this problem?
