I admit it. I like the way this pistol looks. And being a front stuffer in 50 cal. didn't hurt. So I blew the dust off my wallet and bought one last year. Having that nice looking 14 inch fluted barrel. I thought would make the pistol lighter. And therefore easier to carry in the field. But sadly that is just not the case. What this pistol is missing that hunting customers need. Are number 1 A real nice pair of open sight's. Because the gun is heavy. And adding a scope will make it heavier. Which is fine if you want to shoot targets at a range. Or you like to make your own pistol rest's in the field. number 2 sling swivels studs that are already installed. And a nice sling to go with it. number 3 a solid fiberglass ramrod. The metal ramrod that my pistol came with got scratched up the first time out. number 4 A breech plug made for shooting loose powder. The breech plug that my pistol came with is made for shooting pellets. And last but not least. A booklet of proven starting loads would have been a huge help. I don't mind working up loads for rifles. But working up full power hunting loads for a pistol. Cost's money and takes time in order to get it right.
