        When used with a cleaning jag in my encore the patch was too small to do any cleaning. 50 caliber needs 2 1/2 inch pads. Patch was advertised to fit a 50 cal muzzleloader but may work on a 45 cal.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                I do a lot to expermenting with Black Powder so cleaning fast and completely is very important to me. These patches by CVA and sold by Gander Mtn are the best I have found on the market. They clean extremely well and fit a 50 cal barrel perfectly. I would imagine they would do the same on a 45 cal barrel which I will test in another month. For the money they are one of the best values on the market.
