Product Description
cva Ultra-modern conventional in-line rifle features a precision-rifled 24" barrel with a 1.28" twist. This high-tech .50-caliber smokepole is powered by an extremely hot 209 ignition system and will handle 150 grain magnum charges with ease. The Buckhorn rifle also comes standard with a thumb-actuated safety, Illuminator fiber optic sights, dual-barrel retention points, and a bullet-guiding muzzle. What really sets this gun apart from the competition is its radical stock design with Grip Dot panels to ensure a comfortable nonslip grip. Not bad for a rifle that retails for slightly more than a Ben Franklin. 14.25" length of pull.

THIS IS MAYBE ONE OF THE LEAST EXPENSIVE MUZZLELOADERS ON THE MARKET, YOU NEED TO KEEP OUTSIDE OF GUN OILED, AS IT DOES NOT HAVE HEAVY BLUING, BUT THE GUN IS WORTH THE MONEY, IT'S SAFE, EASY TO TAKE APART, EASY TO CLEAN, AND IS VERY ACCURATE, I HAVE BOUGHT 3 AND I AM HAPPY WITH ALL OF THEM, THEY COME FROM THE FACTORY READY TO SHOOT, AND PRE SET ACCURATE AT 100 YARDS, WHILE THEY WILL SHOOT 150 GRAINS OF POWER, ALL YOU NEED IS 100 GRAINS, I USE 2 50/50 TRIPLE SEVEN PELLETS [100 GRAINS] AND POWERBELT 50 CALIBER 245 GRAIN COPPER HOLLOW POINTS, THAT SEEM TO WORK FINE FOR ME, AS TARGETS ARE REALLY BLOWN APART, THE 209 PRIMER CAPS THIS GUN USES WORK GREAT !!!!

breach plug is hard to remove with the t handle tool that is provided. then with a scope mounted the t handle isn't long enough to get the breach plug out, it will hit the scope. the end cap has a allen key cut out in it for unscrewing. U will need to purchase extra end caps because you will round out several. This gun is very out dated wish i never bought it.

Comments about CVA Buckhorn 209 Magnum Rifle:

I have a Nikon scope on mine and it is dead on, 150grains has dropped deer on the spot. Metal lever/safety is not as modern as newer inlines persay but when it is cold and you bundle up your hands it is easy to grab and set in line. Have friends who have trouble pulling the hammers back under the scope of newer model smokesticks three times more expensive. I have as much invested in the sights/scope as I have in the gun high rise rings with true glue sights under scope for low-light times. I love this gun and it hammers em every time. Can't go wrong for the price just get some good optics. I like being inconvienieced pulling out the breech, its a muzzle loader it is supposed to be old school just use a rifle shells if you want muzzleloading to get any more modern.

Have only fired this gun a few times. Right on right out of the box. Not the easiest to clean, but not bad for the money. It's the begining of muzzle loading for me.

I am new to muzzle loaders. I bough this gun and was shooting it immediately. It is deadly accurate at 100yds. I loved shooting this. If you want to buy your first muzzleloader, buy this one. I am looking forward to using this for whitetail late season.

I use a scope but if you want honesty its a muzzle loader not a modern rifle, i usually would set mine to 75 yards dead on, and the open sights 50 yards dead on, but i have heard of accurate shots traveling up to 200 yards with this gun with little drop. but to have a an effective kill ratio then set between 75 to 100 yards... good luck
