A:I use a scope but if you want honesty its a muzzle loader not a modern rifle, i usually would set mine to 75 yards dead on, and the open sights 50 yards dead on, but i have heard of accurate shots traveling up to 200 yards with this gun with little drop. but to have a an effective kill ratio then set between 75 to 100 yards... good luckAnswered on 10/18/2012 by the hunter from washington pa
