The Browning Model 1885 is patterned after the original single shot rifle invented by John M. Browning in 1878 and originally produced by Winchester. Among the distinguishing features of the Browning 1885's are a free-floating octagonal barrel, a self-cocking rebounding hammer, a user-adjustable trigger pull weight, a highly polished high luster blue barreled action, a gold plated trigger, a select straight walnut stock, and a Schnabel forearm graced by plenty of cut checkering and a durable glossy finish. This rifle has a hooded front sight, an adjustable buckhorn rear sight, and a target tang sight. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in very good condition.
