I used this 203gr bear ammo in my mosin nagant m44 knock around rifle (I use it for dragging through the river or when I go some where I know my gear will get tore up). I'm only good on the rifle for about 150-200 yards(iron sights) and this ammo will put anything you can hit in the dirt (no ammo is magic you have to practice, practice, practice). I took a doe this year with it from about 75 yard and she didn't even think of taking a step.

I can't understand the good reviews for this ammo. I've shot close to 100 rounds and they ALL SUCK. I may have gotten a REALLY BAD batch. I can hit 100 yards no prob with milsurp rounds and higher quality ammo but I can't even hit 25 yards with these.
The powder has a really poor charge or there just isn't enough powder. I have to adjust my rear sight up to the 300 yard mark to get on paper at 25 yards. Horrible experience.

will this round expand on impact or is it only a target roundAsked on 1/3/2010 by dick from wichita2 answers
A:
Soft point would expand on impactAnswered on 1/7/2010 by Concop98 from FLA:
i've tested these rounds on ballistics gel.. i was surprised at their ability to expand. 3 different rounds expanded to just about 2x their original size and retained nearly 90% of their original wieght. 2 of the rounds did fragment but the cavity wound was more than sufficient for taking large game. Ex: deer, caribou, elk...Answered on 1/9/2010 by 7.62x54r from Mexico, NY
