Comments about Spongex Boat Guide Buoy, 6" x 14" with hold-downs:
These are made fine except for the hooks. The hooks are just a piece of steel bent into a loop and a galvanized nail to hold the hook in. To made them industrial strength I took some ¾" PVC drilled holes through the buoy and the PVC, and glued them in. Then run a ty-wrap through them just in case the glue would fail. Then drill another hole through the PVC that is exposed at the bottom of the buoy to attach it to your line. It's an easy job and will cost you about 10 bucks in material to make them bullet proof. Well worth the time!!!!

These Boat Guide Buoys are easy to see and very durable. My wife keeps running them over and breaking the line but not the buoy. They hold up great.

Q:
What is the buoyancy rating if this buoy?Asked on 8/19/2009 by WildBill2500 from Livermore, ME1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This is an approximate buoyancy rating of 10 pounds 11 ounces, because no two buoys are the same due to the manufacturing process that they go through. We strongly emphasize that this is an approximate buoyancy rating!!!Answered on 9/14/2009 by JUSTIN from OVERTONS TECHNICIAN
