Comments about Blue Sea Systems Blue Sea m-Series 6006 Battery Switch, Single Circuit w/Knob:

Moved the engine ground from the battery to the switch and a new ground cable from switch to the battery. I had an extra 12g lead from the battery ground to the MPEM box so I added a terminal on one of the removable side panels and attached to the switch terminal for engine ground. The removable panels on each side allows the battery cables to come from any direction and makes installation easy. I also added S.S. lock nuts on the housing and secured with JB Weld so I could install removable S.S. bolts to remove the switch from the housing without dropping the nuts into the engine well. The removeable panels also allowed me to install vertically (to be able to read the switch normally) attaching the switch to a crossover panel under the seat. You will have to buy the bolts seperately to secure the housing and switch, but that is okay because the different ways to mount the switch will require different lengths.

I have battery drain when my pontoon boat isn't used for several days. Is this something that could be used to disconnect from the battery? If so, how would it be installed? Or is there something better?

                    A:

Yes, you can use this switch to disconnect from the battery. On the back of this switch are two studs. The positive (+) leads from the motor, switch panel or any other item that you wish to disconnect, will connect to the stud marked common. The positive (+) lead from the battery will connect to the stud marked battery.
