Q:I have a Mariner 9.9 HP engine will this work on it.Asked on 8/5/2014 by nativetx03 from Slaton Texas
Yes. The Blackfin Skeg should work for you application but I would recommend that you measure from the font of your gear housing back to the beginning of your prop. If it measures between 10.5" to 11.5", you will need a small Blackfin and if it measures from 12.5" to 14.5" then you will need the medium. I am attaching the instructions for measuring: http://www.overtons.com/assets/prodman/Blackfin_brochure.pdf

Q:IF THE BLACKFIN SHOULD BECOME BROKEN, OR IN MY CASE GETS A CHUNK BROKEN OUT OF IT, WHAT IS BEST METHOD OF REMOVING OLD ONE BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW ONE? Thanks, RickAsked on 7/24/2014 by rick from lincoln, ne
You will need to remove the damaged Blackfin by cutting the bead of adhesive that was placed at the top of the skeg. The skeg will not come off easily, but it will need to be removed, sanded and cleaned before the new Blackfin can be installed. I am attaching the installation link for your review: http://www.overtons.com/assets/prodman/Blackfin_brochure.pdf.

Yes. The Blackfin Skeg will work with your Mercruiser Bravo II outdrive. However, I do not have one here to measure to advice you on what size you will need. I am attaching the diagram of how to measure for the correct size that will fit you outdrive.
