Product Description
berkley As the longest-casting, thinnest, strongest, and most sensitive line on the market today, Berkley NanoFil allows you to go lighter than ever before, to throw small spinners farther and to finesse small baits with greater ease. Not a mono, not a fluorocarbon, and not a braid-NanoFil feels and handles like a smooth monofilament with the performance characteristics of a braid. Thin, smooth texture, minimum diameter, and maximum strength for effortless casting precision and distance without sacrificing performance. NanoFil consists of hundreds of Dyneema gel-spun polyethylene nanofilament fibers molecularly linked and shaped into a unified-filament fishing line, giving it superline-class strength. Zero stretch and ultra-small diameter provide ultimate sensitivity to feel everything from the lightest pickups to the most jarring strikes. Zero memory virtually eliminates line tangles. Incredibly high strength/diameter ratio. Designed for use with light- to medium-weight spinning tackle. 150-yd., 300-yd., and 1500-yd. Spools. Clear Mist. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12-lbs. test.

I've been using NanoFil since it came on the market and in my 60 years of fishing this is the best line I have ever used. It is so slick it flies off the spool, my cast are 30% longer. There is no noise when fighting a fish like you have with regular braid. I rarely get a wind knot and the few times I have it comes right out. Great knot strength, and it's easy to tie. I tie it straight to my floralcarbon leader using a Uni to Uni knot and a knot I created myself, neither knot has ever failed. I've never had a fish break NanoFil. I can feel bites that I never would have felt with mono. Unlike one comment I read about it sailing on the wind, for me it seams to cut through the wind better than braid or mono. It has less drag in the water. I use it trout fishing in fast water and the drag is way less. So until they come along with something better, NanoFil is the only line going on my reels. As for things I don't like about it, there are none.

I put this on my daiwa laguna baitcaster and the first thing I noticed after casting was that it was leaving a waxy residue in the eyehole, it also looses it's smooth coating within the first hour. It casts like dacron even though it is smooth until you use it.

Back lashing is 50/50 they are extremely easy to fix and don't crimp the line or fray it, but the line has such low memory that it lies loose on the spool. I didn't notice any cut in on the spool although I didn't catch anything withing 3 hours which tells you something else.

This is the best tying line I have ever used, I use the double palomar knot and it is extremely easy to make and cinch with this line, it has never slipped or broken and stays very uniform.

The line is screwed if it gets twists in it, it also frays frays if it hits anything scratchy, doesn't seem to loose strength unless you really fray it bad. I haven't broke it yet, yet it still cuts clean with a knife or nail clipper.

All in all I will not be moving this line onto a spinner and I will be returning it ASAP. Which is too bad because I absolutely love how it ties.

Comments about Berkley NanoFil Uni-Filament Fishing Line, 150 yds.:

Great for casting on spinning reels. You get a lot farther cast than any other line.Very easy to use and hardly ever get a tangle in the reel/line.Use this line 90 % of the time now.Is prone to sail on windy days when casting INTO the wind.Get the wind at your back and you will be floored at the distance you will get.I find it to be VERY strong line as well, never has broken on me and I fish all day long, till the sun sets or wife keeps calling the phone.Get the 150 yards at 20$ and you have a reel thats good for the season.

Comments about Berkley NanoFil Uni-Filament Fishing Line, 150 yds.:

I use the 14lb low-vis green on a spinning reel and on the first cast I was blown away. It adds distance (20+ feet) immediately with little effort & with no reel magic or anything. Perfect for jigs and swimbaits. If you have a spinning set up, definitely give this a go. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I have used several fishing lines, and I almost exclusively use open reals. I wasn't sure if this would be worth the money. it certainly is and I don't think I will ever use anything else.

Comments about Berkley NanoFil Uni-Filament Fishing Line, 150 yds.:

I use 8 lb nano with a 6 lb fluoro leader instead of what I used to use(4 lb mono) for perch and crappie. It casts better, is more visible for light bites, no stretch, and with the extra strength and thin wire hooks, it can be pulled from most snags by straightning the hook. The only negative is the line is so light that with light bait, a strong wind will catch the line like a sail.
