The Beretta Model 96 is a .40 S&W calibered version of the Model 92, the standard sidearm of the US military. The Beretta 96's open slide design ensures smooth feeding and ejection of ammunition and allows easy clearing of obstructions. The locking block barrel lockup provides excellent accuracy and operability due to the in-line travel of the barrel. The 96FS variation has an enlarged hammer pin that fits into a groove on the underside of the slide, stopping the slide from flying off the frame to the rear if it cracks. In addition, the Model 96 features a chrome-lined barrel, a recurved triggerguard for improved two-handed grip, new grip panels and lanyard ring, and a trigger bar disconnect safety. The 96 Centurion offers the frame and magazine capacity of the basic 96 FS model and the reduced length of the Compact version. This double-action pistol has fixed 3-dot sights and includes two 10-round magazines. Its grips and its bore are in very good condition and its metal is in good condition.
