Originally designed for the Italian army and police, the Model 92 pistols earned most of their fame as the standard sidearm of the US military. The Beretta 92's open slide design ensures smooth feeding and ejection of ammunition and allows easy clearing of obstructions. The hard-chromed barrel bore reduces barrel wear and protects it from corrosion. The locking block barrel lockup provides excellent accuracy and operability due to the in-line travel of the barrel. The 92S is a variation of the original Model 92 design that adds a slide-mounted combined safety and decocking lever, replacing the frame-mounted manual thumb safety found in earlier 92's. This double-action semi-auto features open sights and a 15-round magazine. There are light handling marks on the pistol. Over all, its synthetic grips, its metal, and its bore are all in good condition.
