Awesome Awesome AWESOME!!!
I finally ponied up the money for this gun. As 9mm's go it's fairly expensive. Is it worth it? Yes, every last penny! There is not one thing I don't like about this gun. I love the alloy frame, the size is perfect and the weight is good too in my opinion. In addition, it's well balanced and it feels really good in the hand. For me it's perfect.
Likes: The size (I don't care for compact guns), magazine capacity (2 15 rounders come with it, 18's are available), the safety features (hammer block, firing pin lock, DA first pull), and most important, the whole feel of the gun. There is no slop, there is no stiffness, and there are no parts that feel like they might break if you aren't gentle with them. The other key selling point for me is the DA/SA feature. This alone makes this gun stand out from almost all of the other 9mm and was a main reason for choosing it. It's very slick, the first pull is a full, hard Double Action trigger pull. You won't squeeze a shot off by accident in this mode. After that, each shot is a smooth a gentle short trigger pull in Single Action mode as the gun arms the hammer and chambers the next cartridge. Now the sweet part, want SA on the first pull? Just arm the hammer first (try to do that with a hammerless gun). Want to go back to DA after firing? Just release the hammer with the safety, when you take the safety back off the first shot will be DA again. Have a mis-fire? The DA kicks in, just pull the trigger again and the gun will arm and release the hammer a second time on the same round. It all works very sweet and is probably the most outstanding feature on this gun. And lastly ... this is one very cool looking gun! No wonder it's the hero's choice in movies like Lethal Weapon and Die Hard.
Dislikes: Absolutely none! No wonder this gun places consistently in the 2nd spot of Peoples Choice Best Nines. And for shooting shooting, it shoots straight and true with really nice recoil. Funnest gun I've shot by far with nice tight groupings. No regrets with this gun!

I own one of these and it is very accurate and reliable. However, if I did it all over again I would by one with a light rail on it to make it suitable for defense. I love the trigger and availability of accessories. You could get a lot more options by buying an XD. Regardless of your choice, the best handgun is one that fits your hand. If not, you will be at a disadvantage.

Comments about Beretta 92FS 9MM Blued Finish:
The weight makes for a gun you can shoot all day with very little recoil. It's always very reliable and enjoyable to shoot. It's old school, but the best of old school. I added the Walnut grips and the gun looks like a million bucks.

Comments about Beretta 92FS 9MM Blued Finish:
Have had one of these for years - a good gun for the range and home protection. Never had a moment's problem with mine.
The only complaint I would have is that on the range, shooting in competition, the first trigger pull is longer with the hammer down than the rest of the shots with the hammer back, unlike a hammerless pistol like a Glock where every trigger pull is the same.
I own this model and have shot the model 92 with the longer barrel, same feel, same recoil. I could acquire the target a little faster with the shorter barreled model.
Handle on this one is larger than a Glock 19 - so if looking for something for a woman, you may to have her try this out first before buying it, as she may not be able to hold on to it as well as a Glock 19 or a Taurus PT-111, as an example.

Comments about Beretta 92FS 9MM Blued Finish:
I bought this beretta to give me a little more protection than my mauser.380 auto, cost a lot less to shoot also. After 1000+ rds. no jams or problems.Very accurate with 115 gr. and 124 gr. Nice sights,I like the weight helps with recoil, grip is on the large size but it fits me very well as I have large hands. Can't wait to put another 1000 rds through it. Very happy with the pistol

Q:
Does gandermountain offer the original M9 instead of the 92FS?Asked on 4/17/2010 by kylec from Alabama3 answers
A:
no m9 are military and law enforcement issuedAnswered on 6/27/2010 by gunguy from Woolwine,VAA:
You may be able to buy the M9 from a surplus store. Gander Mountain may sell them used, but you should call a store to be certian. The 92FS has upgraded slide, sights, guide rod, and finish as compared to the M9.Answered on 8/29/2010 by Mike from ILA:
they are the same gun. The military uses the M9 designationAnswered on 12/28/2010 by Doug from Northern, NY

No, but now they make a 92A1 that comes in either 9MM or .40 cal. This link will take you there where you can see it and read about it.

This is to correct my previous answer. Beretta is introducing the 96A1(not 92A1) in .40 cal. this summer. The 96A1 will be available: July 2010.

Q:
Can you get it with an adjustable rear sight?Asked on 3/15/2010 by Dave1 answer
A:
Dave, the 92FS has a fixed rear site that is, I believe, sited at 25 yards with ball ammo (FMJ). The gun is "accurate out of the box" according to Beretta, and experience seems to verify this claim. There are adjustable sites that you can purchase from Beretta if you want to modify.Answered on 8/28/2010 by Cap'n Jack from Tampa, Florida

Q:
I don't see the actual model. Is this the 92FS?Asked on 12/5/2009 by Bulldog from Wauwatosa, WI5 answers
A:
it is the 92fs based on the sku # and its appearance :
Based on the 92 Brigadier FS model and equipped with the same heavier and re-contoured slide, the 92 is a single/double-action model 4.9" (125 mm) barrel with accurizing bushing for maximum shot precision. The bushing is replaceable for wear and perfectly blocks the barrel on the slide during firing. The front and rear slide serrations enable easier slide racking during manual operation. The frame-mounted ambidextrous manual safety makes the firearm combat-ready, hammer-armed and with the safety on.
