I purchased my Benelli Sport II in April of 2009. I had shot sporting clays for 8 years with my Beretta Silver Pigeon II, but had to sell it when my wife got sick. After 3 years away from the sport I began to look for a replacement shotgun. I shoot an average of 3-4 days per week, easily going thru 1000 rounds per week. I couldn't afford another Beretta Silver Pigeon II, so I started looking at the Benelli auto-loaders. After shooting one at the range, my eyes were set on the Benelli Sport II. I have put that gun thru it's paces over the last year, to say the least. I have yet to have so much as a hiccup from it. No failures to eject, no failures to feed, fires EVERY time, regardless of what ammo I use. Because I take new shooters out, quite often, My Benelli is the only gun we use. One gun for six people for 100 rounds per person, with no breaks for cleaning in-between rounds. Never had a problem. When I do clean it, I run the bore-snake thru the barrel twice and wipe out the chamber and bolt and add some new oil and it's ready to go until I decide to clean it again. While I don't suggest you do it, I have easily gone thru 5000 rounds between cleanings and had no problems what-so-ever. To put if frankly, this shotgun is the AK-47 of auto-loaders...It will function everytime, regardless of how dirty it is. The shotgun comes up easily to the shoulder and is comfortable to carry and shoot all day. This is, by far, the best shotgun I have ever owned. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up! Since I made my purchase, the other members of my team have all purchased Benelli's; two Super Sports, one Sport II, one Ultra-light and one Legacy. They all shoot like "BUTTA". They are indeed worth every penny and more.
