benelli When the U.S. Marine Corps went shopping for a combat shotgun, they bought a Benelli. That's because a combat shotgun has to function the first time, every time. The Benelli M4 does it for the U.S. military, and now can be the centerpiece of your own home defense plan. Benelli engineers developed and patented a unique auto-regulating gas-operated (ARGO) system. Dual stainless steel, self-cleaning pistons located just ahead of the chamber operate directly against the bolt assembly. It's a simple and dependable system that eliminates the complex linkage, springs and heavy parts that other semi-automatic shotguns have to depend on. The result is marine-tough reliability under the harshest environmental conditions. The M4 comes standard with a Picatinny rail for optics, a ghost-ring fully adjustable rear sight, and fixed-blade front sight. This variation features a rugged black synthetic stock and a pistol grip and holds five rounds of ammunition.

      The term "lead storm" comes to mind. With a a KZ magazine extension, the M-4 will hold nine 2 3/4 inch shells. The M-4 cycles so fast and stays on target so well, it is like having an automatic weapon for the second or two it takes to empty the magazine. Form a baracade position, one could fight off several assailants with plenty of time to transition to a secondary weapon. The gun is pleasant to shoot with full-power loads and creates quite a lead storm!

        I checked out all the other Tactical shotguns and I was sold on this model, I also plan on using it for Turkey Hunting as well as home defense. Cant get any better than this model in my books. Really impressed with the action and the feel of the gun.

          Awesome shotgun! Very pricey compared with other tactical shotguns from makers like Mossberg and Remington, you could get 2 or even 3 from them for the price of this one, but the way I see it, if it's good enough for the Marines to chose, it's gotta be a great reliable shotgun and good enough for anyone willing to pay the price. Very well built, quality construction, tight tolerances, nothing lose and rattling like some of the previously mention cheaper models. Shoots and cycles flawlessly. I'd suggest adding Meprolight tritium front and rear sights to replace the standard white dot sights but that's a matter of preference. You won't be disappointed in this gun.
