At the time of its release in the mid-1960's, BSA's Monarch rifle was one of the most advanced bolt-actions on the market. The Monarh's unique horseshoe extractor and barrel extension design permits a fully enclosed cartridge case and bolt head for added strength. Its chrome-moly steel barrel is spill-bored with rifling grooves and individually cut to perfect concentricity. The bolt body has a guide rib for smooth bolt operation. Gas-proof housing completely enclosing the cocking piece and hand-polished chambers preserve cartridge cases for reloaders. This rifle features a ramped front sight with an adjustable rear sight, a raised comb, and a 2-position thumb safety. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in good condition.
