At the time of its release in the mid-1960's, BSA's Monarch rifle was one of the most advanced bolt-actions on the market. The Monarh's unique horseshoe extractor and barrel extension design permits a fully enclosed cartridge case and bolt head for added strength. Its chrome-moly steel barrel is spill-bored with rifling grooves and individually cut to perfect concentricity. The bolt body has a guide rib for smooth bolt operation. Gas-proof housing completely enclosing the cocking piece and hand-polished chambers preserve cartridge cases for reloaders. This rifle features an adjustable trigger, a ramped front sight with a folding leaf rear sight, front and rear sling swivel studs, a LimbSaver recoil pad, and a 2-position safety. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in good condition.
