I wanted something to use frequently and bought it on sale. At the lower powers it works extremely well. Good focus and clarity, however, once you try to increase the magnification from more than halfway to max power it becomes grainy and hard to focus. Up to about 40 power its good. Not something I would use over 250 yards.

First purchase from Gander Mountain online, and I am very pleased so far. The service was outstanding and helpful too. This is a gift for brother and sister-in-law for shooting. Product reviews were helpful in making our decision. How the product actually performs is yet to be determined, but I am guessing it will work well.

Comments about BARSKA Colorado Spotting Scope Kit:

I bought this scope to use as I sight in my high power rifles at the range. I think at 100 yards, this scope is great. I wish it had better focusing capability so the imaging could be clearer at the longer distances. I can certainly live with this scope the way it is. If you are looking to see a pin hole at 300 yards, this is not the scope for you - and that is not the intended purpose of this scope. I think this scope is a great value for the money.

Do any of the spotting scopes have camera adapters?

                  • A:

Many high end scopes do have camera adapters available. The entry level models do not. Two I am familiar with are Zeiss and Nikon. There are camera adapters available, by separate order, but generally not included with the product unless it specifically mentions the interface adapter and the type of camera it was designed for. There are two components to adapting a camera to any scope. An eyepiece ring and a camera ring which must be bought to match your camera's lense adapter. Nikon adapters are different from Canon, for example.
