Designed by John Browning, the Model 1911 was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985 and is still carried by some U.S. forces today. The Model 1911's longevity is due to Browning's often-imitated design, which incorporates the short recoil principle. The M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, and recoil-operated handgun chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. Auto Ordnance makes a back-to-basics 1911 clone with a parkerized finish and part and magazine compatibility with the standard Colt 1911's. This limited edition pistol was issued by the American Historical Society. The handgun features special engraving and gold details and includes a wooden display case, accessories, and the certificate of authenticity. Its grips, metal, and bore are all in excellent condition.
