The Arisaka-designed Type 30 bolt-action was the standard infantry rifle of the Japanese infantry from 1897 to 1905. It was the first rifle in the Arisaka family as well as the first to chamber the 6.5×50mm Arisaka round. Type 30 rifles were well-built, but were considered to be slightly underpowered in comparison to other military rifles of the day. The Type 30 carbine or cavalry rifle is a modified version made 300 milometers shorter than the infantry model and without the bayonet lug. This sporterized rifle features a fixed front sight with a flip-up volley rear sight and a bolt pull hook safety. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in good condition.
