It worked well. Must put downward pressure on fiberglass rods to keep it in place during windy conditions. Bottom of pole waked around a bit. Tried placing a rubber shoe under pole to keep it in place to no avail. Added a bungie cord to keep the pole in place. Needs a better rubber end cap to keep it in place. Maybe a suction cup type of bottom. Otherwise, it looks great and worked well. It will help save my boats seats and equipment as well as us from the strong Sun's rays we have on the Colorado River. Our use is mainly on Lake Mead, Lake Mojave, and Havasu. Also, the extra shade helps keep our ice longer which is very important for us on the Colorado River. Very easy to use.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Taylor Made should be ashamed of this product and Overton's should not carrie or advertised as "best Seller" [...]. Poorly made, at the end of the day...the mechanism that is supposed to slide down the pole to enable the shade to fold up locked up. I tried everything possible but it would not fold up. I ended up using a screwdriver to dismantle the hole umbrella and put it back in the supposedly heavy duty nylon bag that rip on the side. I have know send the umbrella back to overton's [...]. So if you don't want to be cheat it out of your money DON't Buy it!

Comments about Taylor Made AnchorShade II:

I wanted extra shade for the front seating area on our pontoon boat that the rear awning didn't provide. I couldn't find any other products that compare to this. It is easily installed with velcro strips to the rails-it works perfectly!

    • Shade For Seating On Boat

Comments about Taylor Made AnchorShade II:

We are now able to sit outside in the hot sun in the cockpit of our boat. We tried regular umbrellas but just a little whiff of wind would dislodge it. We saw an anchorshade being used by another boat and asked where they got it. It is adaptable to fit our needs and yes it does get hot in the PNW. Sometimes.

Absolutely. We installed stainless steel eyelets on our rails at the appropriate locations. It looks good and remains stable at anchor. Highly recommend.

What type of warranty does this item have?

I've been very careful not to place it where it can be damaged. Opened it this weekend and see one of the support poles (fiberglass) is splintered. If warranty doesn't cover this problem, can I buy a replacement pole?

Yes. With the powder coating on the pole, it took a second to get it in the FIRST time, but from then on it slides strait in.

What holds the umbrella on the boat? Do you have to drill holes in the boat?

              • A:

no holes to be drilled and it can sit in a table hole or just on the floor. But it may slide in a small breeze or fall apart

              • A:

the center pole provides support with four teather lines extending from the corners of the shade to the cleats of your boat. We alos are able to attache the lines to bow rails, ect.
