I like the swivel, but the legs don't lock in place like the seat and you can't pick it up and move it with one hand because the legs colaps, so you have to use both hands to set it up again. I think it is put together upside down.

Comments about Ameristep® Swivel Tripod Stool:

The Ameristep tripod was easy to set up and adjust to my leg length. It is compact and well designed. The only problem I had was it took about 5 minutes to break down after use. Clear directions would have helped in this case.

Was very comfy, but not made for someone over 200. I'm a lean 230 and I blew a leg out after about 3 hours. The 200max is the truth.

If you weigh 200LBS this tripod will last a matter of hours before the sewing gives way on the 3 corners of the seat.

Sitting on a rock would be more comfortable than this stool. It is poorly constructed as the plastic center shattered the first time I used it.
The legs were a hassle to adjust. A bucket with a swivel lid is a much better choice. In fact sitting on a cactus beats this stool.

Pull on each pole one at a time to release the lock, and it will fold back up.

I put the leg height to the shortest setting, pushed the legs together and wrapped the excess seat cushion around the legs and put the item back into the bag.

yes, I just got mine. The top/seat poles were very stiff the first time i tried to close it. I really thought it would break before finally releasing. Pull poles straight out. I put some oil on the notches after the first time. Now it works very smoothly.
