        when i received the rod & reel combo, it arrived with the rod being damaged. contacted the online service dept and they sent out a new combo set, witch i recived in worse condition. after contacting a local gander mt store a dept manager gladly gave me an upgraded rod of the same make and sent me on my way a happy costomer. the silver max reel works great, smooth, fast retrive and quiet.

        Awesome rod! I'm 14 and have caught muskie before. I was looking to buy a Replacement rod since I broke a Zebco 33 while fighting a bowfin. So I saved my money and got this thing to use at the Dan river and New river. Light enough to feel a panfish, But strong enough for a muskie. Good for beginners and pros.

        the rod & reel combo i ordered showed up with the rod tip broken/missing, called the online service center and they sent me out another. the 2nd one arived with the rod broken in 2 places?! contacted service center again, now i have 2 broken rods to send back. gander mnt needs to looking into their shipping service. well this does have a happy ending, a local gander mnt store gladly exchanged one of the broken rods for a upgraded model of the same manufacture rod. and swaped the silver max reel on the new rod, at no extra charge for all my trouble, 30 mi round trip to the store and time. a big thanks to the dept manager for making sure i left a happer camper.

        I'm like any other avid bass fisherman. I have more equipment and baits then I really need. But this combo is my new favorite. I always look for equipment that I could possible use for different purposes. I have used this combo for cranking spinnerbaits and shallow to deep crankbaits. The tip of the rod is flexible enough that it allows give for a great hook set. If you are like me and try to get the most for less and mulit uses, this combo is for you. I have zero buyers remorse and actually went and bought a 2nd combo last week.

            i bought it because i was lookin for a new baitcaster for a great price. I like the rod alot i really like the split grip and the action is good for me to use soft plastics. I took the reel off and put my bass pro shops mega cast baitcast reel on and thats a deadly combination. If you are looking for a great rod id buy this

                IF I WERE YOU I WOULD PUT 20 LB BRAID DUE TO THE FACT YOU CAN GET A LOT MORE LINE ON AND GET THE BEST OF TWO WORLDS, STRENGTH FOR BIG BASS OR WHATEVER AND ENOUGH BEEF TO GET OUT OF SNAGS, AND STILL BE ABLE TO FISH FOR PANFISH. YOU CAN GO FOR BIG SPINNERBAITS AND BEETLESPINS WITH THIS LINE. FOR MORNING POPPNG LURES PUT SOME CHAPSTICK ON YOUR LINE NEAR YOUR LURE AND IT WILL FLOAT. GOOD LUCK BOB CONLEY
