    I love this reel. I now own 3 of them. When I first started to try baitcasters, I would back lash all the time. I bought the Revo SX Lefthanded, and I only backlash when I cast light lures in the wind, or bump something on flip. I put 12lb PLine Flourocarbon, and the set up is nice. I cast just as easily with mono. The reel fits very comfortably in my hand, and I don't get hand fatigue like I did with my old spinnig reel and ugly stick combo. I haven't bought any other baitcasters, and I tried my buddy's, but I just want the Revo back everytime.

    I lost four lures due to the braking system kicking in and stopping the line immediately in the middle of a cast. This is with the braking system set at minimum. This would happen almost every cast if I didn't have the the reel adjusted perfectly for the weight of the lure.

        I have been fishing for black bass in the north Texas area since the late 70's. I have owned several 5500 series for over 20 years and 3 of the 4600 series for a little over 10 years. I like the low profile design of the Revo much better than the round 5500's. Sure does fit in my hand much better. Once I got the MagTrax™ brake system set correctly I can easily cast 1\8 oz. lures.

          This is my 2nd Revo, bought my first one last spring and took it to northern Canada to fish for Lake Trout and Pike. I also had a heavy duty spinning reel (because that's what I normally use) but ended up only using it for an hour or so. This reel casts so well and is so light along with my Gander Mountain rod that I was hooked on that outfit for the rest of the week. Caught some huge Pike and Lakers and the reel performed flawlessly.. A great outfit...
