            This is my second Abu Garcia baitcaster. First baitcaster was an Abu Garcia Record for my musky rod. I wanted to purchase a quality reel that would last, and I'm sure that this one will. It's solidly built, but not heavy, and fits great in my hands. I've paired it with a 7' medium-fast action rod. I'm using 12 lb mono, and even in cold weather it's casting heavier lures like spoons a long ways. I'm not very good at casting lighter lures with this reel yet. My attempts at casting lighter lures have resulted in numerous birds nests, and when line doesn't tangle, I can't seem to cast all that far. Lighter lures I'd rather throw with a spinning rod/reel, but with lighter line. This reel is great for launching spoons or other "heavy" lures way out there. I'd say this is a very good reel for the money. My guess is that performance and longeveity are right on par with Abu's more expensive reels.

              Just got the reel and had to try it out before
              the snow started. Handles good and worked good
              on the 5# bass I caught. Would buy another one
              when the time comes to replace older reels.
