Q:does this hold up in salt water too?Asked on 12/20/2009 by Anonymous
A:They have no issues with saltwater, I have been surf fishing along the gulf coast with them for over 30 years, I just rinse them off and they keep on going. Every so often I will pull them apart and do a good cleaning or replace a worn out part, these are my favorite reels of all time. I have even taken one offshore fishing for kingfish, it worked! PS..I have a VERY old one that still works, my grandfather gave it to me. I would still be using it today, but figured I should retire it and pass it on to my grandkid when the time is right.Answered on 12/27/2009 by Patrick from Galveston Texas
