Comments about Unified 6" Stainless-Steel Cleat:
I bought a couple of these from another company, but the quality was so bad I gave them away, so I thought I would try some from Overton's and glad I did, the 6'' stainless cleats were of a quality that refected the integrity of this company. I have bought many things from Overton's and will cotinue in the future.
Thanks

Comments about Unified 6" Stainless-Steel Cleat:
This deck cleat was an exact match for the existing cleats on my boat. Very easy to install and it looks great. I mounted it on the bow as an anchor tie off and it looks like it came with the boat. Love it!

Comments about Unified 6" Stainless-Steel Cleat:
These cleats match the ones used by the factory on my Alumacraft Dominator fishing boat. My boat was lacking cleats close to the bow and these look like they came with the boat. Best of all, they cost much less than ordering directly from Alumacraft.
The hardware to install the cleats is not included. Available at any hardware store.
Installation is straightforward. Drill 4 holes where you want them to be, install stainless bolts, washers, locking nuts and you're done.

Q:
When you install these cleats is it necessary to fiberglass a support in behind the cleat or can you just use a piece of 3/4 plywood. I have a 24' boat and the cleats are to far apart when we tie up with other boats, I want to add two to each side. Also when you drill the holes through the gel coat and fiberglass is there anything special you should do ?Asked on 7/5/2010 by Scott from Greenwood, IN0 answers
