These boots were OK. I went from steel toe thorogoods to these so naturally these were very lightwieght. I like the zipper on the side since it makes it easier to get on and off but, the laces never stay tied unless you double knot. Also, I shined these and the waterproofing seemed to wear off. Overall, I thought 5.11 could have done a little better with the laces and construction. I had to put my own inserts in to make these comfortable. I would recommend these but there are better boots out there.

Trying on this pair of boots felt great... until I wore them for 30min on the job. The side zipper shield pushes inward and rubs against the ankle bone and in my case, rubbed it raw. These have been the most painful boots I have worn. I am going back to a standard style boot with no zipper (you still have to fully lace these boots to have them come off your foot).
